We know pets are part of the family! Here’s what you need to know about keeping pets in your council home.

🏡 If You Live in a House, Bungalow or Ground Floor Flat

You can keep:

  • One dog or
  • One cat or
  • One of each

You don’t need to ask us first, but you must follow the rules in our leaflet:

🏢 If You Live in a Flat or Maisonette

You must ask for permission before getting any pets.

🚫 Pets That Are Not Allowed

You cannot keep any animals that:

  • Cause nuisance (trouble or mess)
  • Cause distress to other residents
  • Live in shared areas like hallways or gardens
