Council Housing Evictions

⚠️ Council Housing Evictions

We need to collect rent to help pay for housing services.
We always try to help tenants who are having problems with rent or their tenancy.

But if nothing works, the Council may go to court to take back the property.

❌ Why might someone be evicted?

  • The most common reason is not paying rent
  • You can also be evicted for breaking other tenancy rules

🏛️ What happens in court?

If the court gives a Possession Order, it means the Council can take back the home.
If you want to change the order or stop it, you must ask the court, not the Council.

📞 What should I do?

  • Get legal advice – talk to a solicitor or the Citizens Advice Bureau
  • Tell the Council if your situation changes after the Possession Order is made
