Do I need to "Bid" for a property

No, Tendring District Council use a direct let system when allocating social housing. When property becomes available the following processing-

•Properties are allocated via a shortlist generated from those who are suitable for the property and have chosen the area the property is located in

•The shortlist is sorted by band with Band A applicants at the top and Band E applicants at the bottom. Those bands are sorted by long an applicant has been placed in that band for. The longer an applicant has held that band the high they will feature in their band group.

•The property is then offered to the applicant with the highest band for the longest time. If it is not accepted, then the process continues until the property is allocated.
