Housing problems can make it harder to cope with your mental health. Likewise, feeling unsafe, insecure or uncomfortable at home can affect your wellbeing.

This page explains how to get support for your mental health, as well as help if you’re homeless or worried about losing your home.

Getting Support for Your Mental Health

It’s important to look after your mental wellbeing along side any housing issues you may be experiencing. The following services can help.

Essex Wellbeing Service: Emotional Support

Essex Wellbeing Service offers support and advice for emotional wellbeing.
Although they do not provide specialist mental health treatment, they can help with factors that affect your mental health, including:

·        emotional wellbeing

·        social isolation

·        weight management

MIND – Mid and North East Essex

If you are an adult living with a mild to moderate mental health problem, MIND’s Support, Time and Recovery Service (STaRS) can help you access local services and practical support.
STaR workers can support you with:

· housing issues

· debt or financial worries

· benefits

· accessing other wellbeing or community services

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please call 111 and choose the option for mental health crisis.

If you’re homeless or worried about losing your home

If you are homeless, at risk of homelessness or concerned about your housing situation:
