The private sector housing team provide a range of services for people living in privately owned or privately rented homes within the Tendring district.
We deal with issues such as illegal eviction, energy efficiency measures, grants, houses in multiple occupation and empty homes. We also have a role in liaising with Essex County Council over unauthorised gypsy encampments.
Our Private Sector Housing Enforcement Policy explains how we will carry out our enforcement role and what business and residents can expect from us and the fees document tells you how much we charge for any notices we have to issue.

Out of Hours Emergency Service
We provide an out of hours service for emergencies. An example of what constitutes an emergency would be an illegal eviction from rented accommodation. The out of hours service is set up to respond to emergencies only. Please ring Tendring Careline on 01255 222022 who will then contact the duty officer.
