What has happened and why?

Tendring District Council’s former Careline service merged with Colchester City Council’s Helpline 24/7 in August 2025 to form a unified telecare, response, and lifting service.

The merger has resulted in a robust, digitally-led service that delivers high-quality care across the whole of North East Essex.

Helpline 24/7 is delivered by the city council’s arms-length trading company, Amphora Trading Limited.
