The Right to Buy scheme gives most secure council tenants (and some housing association tenants) the chance to buy their home at a discount.

Am I Eligible?

You could qualify if:

• You are a council tenant
• The property is your only or main home
• You’ve been a public sector tenant for at least 3 years
  (See the Government website for a full list of public sector landlords)
• You don’t live in sheltered housing or housing designed for elderly/disabled people
• You have no legal debt issues or possession orders

What Discount Could I Get?

Your discount depends on:

• How long you’ve been a public sector tenant
• Whether it’s a house or flat
• The market value of your home
