Included in the price is a main meal for FOUR persons at the Black Buoy Inn, which is steeped in martime history. Originally named the Black Boy (after the 17th Century king, Charles II) The pub dates from at lease 1712 when it was one of fifteen public houses in Wivenhoe.

The coffee morning takes place on TUESDAYS only.  Refreshments can be taken in the lovely garden or the cottage parlour.  10 am - 12 noon

Please note that the garden is wheelchair accessible, but not the Heritage or Railway museum's toilet.

Walton Maritime Museum

The museum records Walton's close association with the sea and its impact on the town's social history. The exhibition displays Walton's internationally important geology with impressive fossil and flint collections, the establishment of the early lifeboat community plus Walton's role as an agricultural community using tidal and wind energy to power the mills. The town's C18 and C19 resort development is highlighted and 2018 concludes the "Walton at War" exhibition featuring the local war effort during WW1 and WW2. This year our special exhibition celebrates Walton's Mr. Magic - Len Blease.

This charitable event is held by the Village Hall for the MacMillan charity and there will be a variety of cakes and refreshments available for a small donation.  There will also be a range of stalls on the day to buy local goods and also handcrafted items including jewellery and clothes.

This illustrated presentation by Roger Kennell tells the story of some of the Clacton Theatres during the hey-day of the town as a major holiday resort.  Some of the memories of the speaker attending these theatres during the 1950's and early 1960's will feature in this memory jerking presentation.
