The purpose for this processing

To provide Environmental Services including:

  1. Pollution complaints
  2. Refuse and recycling – additional services
  3. Refuse and recycling, food safety licensing and enforcement.

Article 6 Lawfulness of Processing (Section 1, (a)):

The data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes.

Article 6 Lawfulness of Processing (Section 1, (b)):

Processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract.

Article 9 Processing of special categories of personal data (Section 2, (a)):

The data subject has given explicit consent to the processing of those personal data for one or more specified purposes (namely to provide assisted collections),

Processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.

The data subject has given explicit consent to the processing of those personal data for one or more specified purposes (namely to provide assisted collections),

Applicable legislation includes Environmental Protection Act 1990; Food Safety Act 1990; Highways Act 1980 and Refuse Disposal (Amenity) Act 1978

What data do we collect about you

Personal details as required.  These may include:

  • Name
  • Address
  • E-mail address
  • Telephone number
  • Financial details
  • Photographic evidence
  • Business activities
  • Licences and permits held
  • Relevant physical or mental health details

How long do we keep your personal data

In accordance with the Council’s Corporate Retention Schedule:

  • Notices served on owners, occupiers and businesses – indefinitely
  • Application for permits – indefinitely
  • Prosecution files and paperwork – live case only
  • Premises inspection file notes – indefinitely
  • Accident and food poisoning investigations file notes – indefinitely

Who we may share it with

Information may be shared with:

  • Providers of relevant goods and services
  • courts and tribunals
  • Government agencies such as Public Health
  • Internally and with Council approved contractors where necessary

Where we get it from

Individuals themselves (Data Subjects), complainants and other relevant third parties.
