The officer’s primary role is the collection and transportation of Stray dogs to the holding kennels and or Veterinary practice.
You will also investigate dog-barking complaints, dog-fouling complaints and regularly liaise with internal TDC teams and outside agencies such as Essex Police and the RSPCA. You will also conduct daily foot patrols along Tendring’s seafronts and open space areas and enforce the Dog Control and Dog Fouling Public Spaces Protection Order.
As part of the Waste and Recycling team, the workload is varied and will include other enforcement duties such as the investigation of abandoned vehicles, Fly tipping, Littering, Duty of cares (Commercial Business Waste)Dog Fouling, Cars for sale at prohibited locations and the issuing of Fixed Penalty Notices for a variety of environmental offences.
You will also be responsible for dealing with service enquiries and complaints relating to the waste, recycling, and street cleansing services.
You will be based at Pier Avenue, Clacton and the role includes the use of a works vehicle, for which a full driving licence (Manual) will be required. We are looking for an enthusiastic team member with good people skills, who can work well under pressure, prioritise their own workload and have the confidence to deal with difficult conflict situations.
