Hours:
37 hour per week
Closing Date:

Exact work location: Clacton Town Hall, Station Road, Clacton On Sea (Hybrid)

The Role

You will join Tendring District Council’s Project Delivery Unit (PDU), a bespoke team leading on a number of exciting schemes being driven by the council.

As the Communications lead within the team, you will be responsible for developing communications plans for each project, within an over-arching Communications Strategy, and then executing those plans (with support from the wider Communications team where required).

You will never be still in this fast-paced role, which will see you often out-and-about creating content and working with stakeholders – not always behind a desk – as you utilise a range of platforms to widen exposure and develop positive engagement with the PDU projects.

Fixed term role up to two years, ending spring 2027 (subject to funding).

The Opportunity

Working for Tendring District Council, you will play your part in supporting the local community – in this role by promoting the positive impact of major projects being delivered by the authority.

While you will be part of the Project Delivery Unit, you will be working closely with services from right across the Council – in particular the authority’s small and close-knit Communications Team.

As well as a competitive salary, you can access a number of benefits – a generous pension scheme, discounted membership at council leisure centres, ample annual leave allowance and learning and development opportunities.

The council also has supportive employment policies and offers flexible working arrangements too.

Accountabilities

The Experience You Will Bring

You will be a self-starter, able to work without direct supervision and seize the initiative and opportunities for positive communications as they present themselves. You will be familiar with delivering communications for major capital projects, comfortable working in a local authority environment, and able to balance your time and workload across multiple workstreams.
