The Role:

This is a 3-year fixed term role working 37 hours per week and is an opportunity for a confident, highly motivated and skilled person to work in a high performing department with great team morale and friendly, helpful, and supportive colleagues.

This is an exciting new role within the Housing Solutions team where you will play your part in supporting the local community and promoting a positive impact. This role will make a difference to our local communities by preventing homelessness for those whose settled status to remain in the UK has recently been approved by the Home Office.

It will involve working with a range of partner services to ensure the delivery of high-quality and effective refugee resettlement services, including advice, integration and support, to enable refugees to find suitable accommodation and live independently in the UK. It will involve conducting homeless interviews using translation services where necessary, issuing statutory decisions, as well as updating and maintaining computerised databases,

You must therefore have:

  • Relevant experience of working in a front-line customer focused environment, with hands on experience and a sound knowledge of immigration resettlement issues and challenges.
  • Experience of using IT Packages
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with members of the public
  • The ability to prioritise and manage workloads to meet deadlines

  • Excellent communication skills  
  • Be able to organise your own workload, work to deadlines and use your own initiative when making decisions.
  • Good recording keeping and statistical skills
  • The ability to travel around the district independently
  • Eligible to work in the UK
