You will proactively work as part of a team who have the responsibility of maintaining the Council’s housing register and allocating all Tendring District Councils housing stock, along with nomination requests from housing associations.
This is a career grade post and remuneration is reflected by the post holder’s ability to perform the competencies (skills, knowledge, experience, etc.) described in the person specification. Ability in each competency will be regularly assessed.
You will:
• Visit applicants in their homes and assess their housing situation along with help to complete the online application form
• Maintain the Housing Register in accordance Council policies, procedures, and targets
• Undertake assessments of applications to determine eligibility and qualification for the register
• Assist in the allocation of social and affordable housing in accordance with Council policies, procedures, and targets.
• Undertake escorted viewings
You must therefore have:
• Relevant experience of working in a front-line customer focused environment
• Experience of using IT Packages
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with members of the public
• The ability to prioritise and manage workloads to meet deadlines
• Must have hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
