Milton Road Car Park

An outdated multi-storey car park is set to be replaced with a modern parking facility to benefit residents and visitors to Dovercourt Town Centre.

The old Milton Road Car Park has been demolished and will be replaced with a new 23-space car park featuring electric vehicle charging facilities and decorative railings inspired by Dovercourt’s iconic Leading Lights.

Demolition work was completed in October 2025 by SRC Group.

Dovercourt Town Centre Improvement Corridor

Tendring District Council was notified in March 2023 that it had secured £6.66million in funding as one of the Government’s Capital Regeneration Projects.

The funding will deliver a modern car park in Milton Road, new social homes in Victoria Street, a refurbished Harwich Library with an Adult Community Learning centre, and major public realm improvements.

The Dovercourt High Street Accelerator is a separate scheme initiative supporting local businesses to create a more vibrant, attractive town centre.
