As part of the second phase of the Dovercourt High Street Accelerator project, a number of improvements have been scheduled for greenspaces in the town centre.
These focus on work near Dovercourt Train Station, the underpass in Mill Lane, Cliff Park, and the Queen Victoria memorial.
TDC is working closely with the Harwich and Dovercourt Partnership on the delivery of this project, which will complement other town centre initiatives.
Previously, the High Street Accelerator scheme funded shopfront improvements for town centre businesses, helping create a welcoming environment for shoppers and visitors.
Tendring District Council was notified in March 2023 that it had secured £6.66million in funding as one of the Government’s Capital Regeneration Projects.
The funding will deliver a modern car park in Milton Road, new social homes in Victoria Street, a refurbished Harwich Library with an Adult Community Learning centre, and major public realm improvements.
The Dovercourt High Street Accelerator is a separate scheme initiative supporting local businesses to create a more vibrant, attractive town centre.
