Dovercourt Public Realm

This project aims to deliver a series of streetscape improvements along the Kingsway corridor in Dovercourt to help revitalise the town centre.

The proposed scheme will create a more inviting route along Kingsway between Dovercourt Railway Station, the town centre, and the seafront—making the town centre an even more attractive place to live, work, shop, and visit.

It is an important initial phase in the regeneration programme for Dovercourt.

Dovercourt Town Centre Improvement Corridor

Tendring District Council was notified in March 2023 that it had secured £6.66million in funding as one of the Government’s Capital Regeneration Projects.

The funding will deliver a modern car park in Milton Road, new social homes in Victoria Street, a refurbished Harwich Library with an Adult Community Learning centre, and major public realm improvements.

The Dovercourt High Street Accelerator is a separate scheme initiative supporting local businesses to create a more vibrant, attractive town centre.
