Unsung heroes from every corner of the district were celebrated at this year’s Pride of Tendring Awards.
Sixteen remarkable individuals, groups and organisations were recognised during a special ceremony at Clacton’s Princes Theatre on Thursday, 26 February, as the awards marked their 14th year of honouring outstanding community contributions.
The Pride of Tendring Awards shine a light on volunteers who give their time, skills and compassion to support others — often without seeking recognition.
Organised by Tendring District Council (TDC), the event was supported by headline sponsor Burney Property Group, along with Air Rescue UK, Halterman Carless and the Harwich Haven Authority.
Nominations were put forward by district councillors, highlighting residents and community groups whose dedication and impact have made a real difference across Tendring.

TDC Chairman Bill Davidson said: “It was a real privilege to celebrate Tendring’s true spirit by honouring our unsung heroes.
“This year’s recipients reflect the kindness, resilience and community spirit that run through our district.
“They don’t seek praise or attention — they simply make a difference, day after day, because they care about the place they call home.
“It is an honour to recognise these volunteers who strengthen our neighbourhoods, support our most vulnerable, and bring others together.
“We are proud of all they do for Tendring, and their stories remind us that positive change often begins with small acts of compassion.
“I hope their example encourages others to get involved and help make our district even stronger.”
