Clacton’s Princes Theatre is sparkling with festive magic thanks to its spectacular pantomime, The Magical Adventures of Peter Pan, which has been delighting audiences and earning rave reviews.
With dazzling 3D effects, laugh-out-loud comedy, circus performers and breathtaking flying sequences, this professional production by Shone Productions is captivating families and friends alike – but the magic only lasts until 29 December.
Audiences have taken to TripAdvisor to share their excitement.
Linda G described the pantomime as “great”, adding: “A wonderful colourful Christmas panto. Lots of laughter and engagement. That was our sixth year and already planning for next year.”
Another reviewer, iamjanrolfe1958, called it an “excellent show”, writing: “Brilliant show for kids and adults, every member of the cast gives 100%. We go every year – they are always good. Recommend take your family, the 3D experience is amazing too. Thank you for a great show – they also take time to have pics done after.”
Len L summed up his experience as a “Peter Pan smorgasbord of fun and laughter”, saying: “Absolutely fantastic. We would highly recommend to all ages. Looking forward to next year's Sleeping Beauty.”
Gary Scott, Tendring District Council’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Culture and Heritage, praised the success of the production.
“Peter Pan has truly brought the magic of Christmas to Clacton this year,” he said.
“The creativity and energy on stage are incredible, and the audience feedback speaks for itself.
“If you haven’t booked yet, now is the time – this is a magical show that you and your family won’t want to miss.”
Audiences join Peter and Tink for a high-energy adventure as they battle Hook and his bumbling crew, discovering the true meaning of friendship and adventure along the way.
Leading the cast is Jack Daniels as Peter Pan, making his pantomime debut with charm and charisma. Returning favourites include Georgina Newton as Tink and Daniel Hanton as the outrageous Mrs Smee, alongside Ben Coles as the lovable Smee, Nancy Edgeler-Ash as the Island Chief, and pantomime legend Nigel Peever as the villainous Captain Hook.
To make the magic accessible to all, the production includes a British Sign Language interpreted performance on Sunday 14 December at 3.30pm, and a relaxed performance on Thursday 18 December at 6pm for those who benefit from a more informal theatre experience. For grown-ups, two cheeky adults-only shows will take place on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 December at 8pm, promising risqué humour and outrageous fun.
