Older residents in Tendring are invited to attend a free event offering vital safety information to help them stay safe both at home and out in the community.
The Older Persons Crucial Crew event, hosted by Tendring Community Safety Partnership (TCSP) and Tendring District Council (TDC), will take place at the Princes Theatre, Clacton, on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, from 10am to 3pm.
The event will bring together a range of organisations providing practical advice on topics including crime prevention, fire safety, personal wellbeing, and how to prepare for emergencies.
Community Voluntary Services Tendring will also be offering Winter Warmer packs to attendees who meet the eligibility criteria.
Councillor Peter Kotz, Portfolio Holder for Assets & Community Safety, encouraged older residents in the district to attend.
“This event is a fantastic opportunity for older people in our district to access free, practical advice to help them stay safe, independent and well,” said Councillor Kotz.
“From staying safe at home to preparing for emergencies or keeping warm during the winter months, the Crucial Crew event brings together trusted partners to share important information in a friendly and supportive environment.
“We are proud to work alongside our partners to raise awareness of everyday risks and provide clear, helpful guidance that can make a real difference to people’s lives.
“I would encourage older residents to sign up, and for friends and family members to recommend the event to anyone who may benefit.”
Organisations attending the event include Essex Police, Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, Community Voluntary Services Tendring, Essex Adult Social Care, Bill Clinic, East of England Ambulance Service, Safer Roads Partnership, Age Well East, Clacton Lions, Tendring Specialist Stroke Services, Tendring Community Transport and Essex Sight.
The event is free to attend, with teas and coffees available on arrival.
Free parking is available for Tendring residents with a valid pass after 11am in the High Street and Wellesley Road car parks, both located near the Princes Theatre.
