Public Seating

Tendring District Council welcomes donations of memorial benches to be installed in our public open spaces along the seafront. This scheme is available to both residents and non-residents, and wherever possible, we will try to accommodate individual wishes.

If you would like to apply for a memorial bench and join our waiting list, please complete the application form below. We will contact you once a space becomes available.

What’s included and costs

The current cost for a memorial bench is £1,200, which includes:

• A 10-year term

• Installation on a concrete base

• One personalised plaque

• Full maintenance provided by Tendring District Council

At the end of the term, you will have the option to renew for a further period. If you choose not to renew, your plaque will be returned to you. Each bench can accommodate up to three plaques, with additional plaques available at £132 each. These can be added at any point during your term.
