The purpose for this processing

To provide Seafront Services including:

  1. Record of incidents by beach patrol and seafront rangers (including first aid reporting sheets)
  2. Seafront events and applications
  3. Beach hut licensing, rental and change of owner/hirer

Legal basis for this processing

Article 6 Lawfulness of Processing (Section 1, (a)):

The data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes.

Article 9 Processing of special categories of personal data (Section 2, (a))

The data subject has given explicit consent to the processing of those personal data or

(Section 2, (c))

Processing is necessary to protect the vital interests of the data subject or of another natural person where the data subject is physically or legally incapable of giving consent.

Processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contact.

  1. Beach hut licencing, rental and change of owner/hirer

Article 6 Lawfulness of Processing (Section 1, (e)):

Processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.

What data do we collect about you

Personal details as required.  These may include:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Email address
  • Telephone number
  • Financial details
  • Relevant third party hirer contact details
  • Relevant supporting documentation
  • Incident details and relevant medical information relating to First Aid assistance.

How long do we keep your personal data

In accordance with the Council’s Corporate Retention Schedule.

  1. Record of incidents by beach patrol and seafront rangers (including first aid reporting sheets) – 10 years
  2. Seafront events and applications – 3 years
  3. Beach hut licencing, rental and change of owner/hirer – current plus immediate pre owner/hirer only

Who we may share it with

Information may be shared internally and with Council approved contractors where necessary e.g. relevant event organisers

Emergency services and other healthcare providers

Where we get it from

Individuals themselves (Data Subjects), other natural persons where the data subject is physically or legally incapable of doing so for themselves and relevant third parties.
