National and Non Domestic Rates (NNDR) (Business Rates) - privacy notice

To create liability for, billing and collection of NNDR for the Tendring District.

Article 6 Lawfulness of processing (Section 1, (c))

Processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the controller is subject.

Personal details as required.  These may include:

• Name of business owner
• Address of business premises
• Name and home address of beach hut owners
• Email address (optional)
• Telephone number (optional)
• Financial details for payment by direct debit

In accordance with the Council’s Corporate Retention Schedule:

Financial data – 6 years plus current.

Relevant information is shared with internal departments where applicable.

We may also share information about you with third parties where permitted or required to do so by law. This may include other local authorities and government departments carrying out their public tasks, such as a Magistrates Court, Valuation Office Agency, the Police in carrying out criminal investigations, and data matching via the District and National Fraud Initiatives. We will also share your data with agencies working on our behalf, such as the council's Collection Agents.

Individuals themselves (Data Subjects), Liable Tax payers, property inspectors, other third parties.
