Leisure and sports centres - privacy notice

To provide a leisure and/or sports centre service including applications for membership, class bookings and private hire, medical referral scheme.

Article 6 Lawfulness of Processing (Section 1, (b)):

Processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contact.

Where a contractual arrangement is not relevant, or where Special Category data will be processed, for example when you have been referred by a health care provider, consent will be sought from the data subject in accordance with Article 6 Lawfulness of Processing (Section 1, (a)):

The data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes.

Personal details as required. These may include:

• Name
• Address
• Email address
• Telephone number
• Employment and educational details
• Age / date of birth for under 16 year olds and associated parental consent
• Financial details
• Visual images (CCTV)
• Proof of eligibility

The following Special Category information may be processed :

• Physical and mental health details

In accordance with the Council’s Corporate Retention Schedule :-

Financial information – 6 years + current year

Demographic profiling – 3 years.

Proof of eligibility - 1 year or until an updated eligibility document is provided

Relevant information may be shared with third parties where necessary:-

Essex County Council
Healthcare providers
Internally with other departments within the Council

Individuals themselves (Data Subjects)

Health care providers
