The Purpose for this processing

To process cremation, burial and memorial applications.

Legal basis for this processing

Article 6 Lawfulness of Processing (Section 1, (b)):

Processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contact.

What data do we collect about you

Personal details of the person(s) making the application.

These may include:

• Name
• Address
• E-mail address
• Telephone number

How long do we keep your personal data

In accordance with the Council’s Corporate Retention Schedule :-

• The process of regulation of burials and cremations, including notice of internment, instructions, receipt of release or operators card – permanent.
• Applications for memorials or inscriptions – 5 years
• Preliminary applications for cremation – 1 year

Who may we share it with

Information may be shared with funeral directors or executors of an estate.

Where we get it from

Individuals making the application (Data Subjects) and/or other relevant third parties, such as funeral directors or executors of an estate.
