Voters in the Frinton & Walton Town Council ward of Kirby-le Soken and Hamford are heading to the polls on Thursday, 28 November.
The Statements of Persons Nominated has now been published, confirming who will be contesting the vote.
The candidates for the election of a parish councillor for the Kirby-le-Soken and Hamford ward on Frinton and Walton Town Council are:
• Bee, Chris (Labour Party)
• Brierley, Janet Bennell (Tendring First)
• Chamberlain, Elizabeth Helen (ReformUK – Changing Politics for Good)
• Platt, James (Conservative Party Candidate)
Polling cards for voters have been posted, detailing which polling station they can vote at.
While the deadlines for applications to register to vote, for new applications to vote by post or to change existing absent vote details, as well as new applications to vote by proxy, have passed, there is still the opportunity for voters impacted since those deadlines passed to apply for an emergency proxy.
Returning Officer Ian Davidson urged people in the Kirby-le-Soken and Hamford ward to use their vote on 28 November.
“I would encourage everyone in the ward who has a vote to have their say as to who will represent them on Frinton and Walton Town Council,” he said.
“If voting in person at a polling station, I would also urge voters to check now that they have a valid photo ID.
“We recognise the photo ID measures are still relatively new and want to remind people to take one of the prescribed forms of ID with them when they go to the polling station.”
Acceptable forms of photo ID include a UK passport or driving licence, Blue Badge, older or disabled person’s bus pass, PASS card or Defence Identity Card. A full list of acceptable photo IDs can be found at www.tendringdc.gov.uk/content/voter-id.
The Statement of Persons Nominated for the by-election is available on Tendring District Council’s website at http://www.tendringdc.gov.uk/elections.
