A glittering awards ceremony at Clacton’s Princes Theatre marked the conclusion of this year’s Tendring4Growth Business Fortnight — celebrating the district’s brilliant businesses.
Organised by Tendring District Council (TDC), the fortnight ran from 22 September to 2 October and featured a packed programme of free events designed to support local enterprise, from start-up advice and grant writing workshops to the interactive Tendring Jobs and Skills Fair.
The finale came on Thursday evening with the Tendring4Growth Business Awards, where finalists, sponsors and community leaders gathered to honour outstanding achievements across nine categories — each reflecting key themes from the fortnight – alongside the Headline Sponsor’s Award.
Councillor Ivan Henderson, TDC Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Economic Growth, Regeneration and Tourism, said the fortnight was a celebration of enterprise and innovation in Tendring.
“This year’s Business Fortnight has been a true celebration of Tendring’s entrepreneurial spirit,” he said.
“From inspiring young businesspeople to showcasing innovation in retail, hospitality and sustainability, we’ve seen just how much talent and ambition exists across our district.
“The Business Awards are a chance to recognise those who go above and beyond — not just in driving economic growth, but in supporting communities, protecting the environment and raising aspirations – and my congratulations goes to all our winners and nominees.
“The Tendring4Growth Business Fortnight is a real chance for our businesses to share ideas and learn from one another – and we welcome suggestions on what topics are covered during next year’s events.
“It’s all about raising aspirations across our district, creating opportunities for our residents, and making sure our local businesses feel supported and valued, no matter their size.”
