Residents looking to take their next step in work, training or a new career are being invited to meet employers and skills providers at Tendring’s biggest employment and training event of the year.
The Tendring Jobs and Skills Fair returns to the Princes Theatre in Clacton from 10.30am to 2.30pm on Thursday, 1 October 2026, bringing together more than 50 confirmed stalls with advice, vacancies, training options and hands-on ways to explore different industries.
The free event is aimed at anyone ready to take a next step — whether that means moving into a different sector, building confidence, learning new skills, meeting employers, or turning an idea into something more.
Among those attending will be Road to Logistics, which offers fully funded courses helping people gain qualifications for specialised careers in areas such as HGV and LGV driving, forklift truck operation, warehouse work, and wider logistics and distribution roles. Home Bargains will also be at the fair and may be looking for seasonal staff, while other big names confirmed include Veolia, Lifehouse Spa and Hotel, Milsoms Hotels and Rose Builders.
Organised as part of Tendring4Growth Business Fortnight, the fair will sit alongside a wider programme of workshops, advice sessions, networking opportunities and events taking place across the district from Monday, 28 September to Thursday, 8 October.
Councillor Ivan Henderson, Tendring District Council Cabinet Member for Economic Growth, Regeneration and Tourism, said the event was about helping people see the talent, ambition and possibilities already here in Tendring.
“This is not just about looking for a job — it is about opening people’s eyes to the careers, skills and ideas that could shape their future,” he said.
“Tendring has so much creativity, enterprise and potential, and this fair brings together the people and organisations who can help residents turn that potential into something real.
“Whether someone is thinking about training, a different career, a first step into work, or even starting their own venture, we want them to leave feeling inspired, better connected and more confident about what comes next.”
Tendring4Growth is Tendring District Council’s economic development initiative, supporting local firms, entrepreneurs and residents with practical advice, useful contacts and opportunities to grow.
The Tendring Jobs and Skills Fair takes place at the Princes Theatre, Clacton Town Hall, from 10.30am to 2.30pm on Thursday, 1 October 2026. Entry is free and no booking is required.
