Sports clubs, community groups and activity organisations across Tendring are being invited to attend a series of forums to find out about funding opportunities available in 2027.

The sessions, being hosted by Tendring District Council's (TDC) Sports and Leisure Team, will give attendees an opportunity to hear about upcoming grant schemes, when funding is expected to become available and how organisations can prepare to apply.

The forums will also provide a chance for local groups to connect with others involved in sport and physical activity across the district and discuss their ideas and share best practice.

A series of events will take place at venues across Tendring, including:

• Clacton Leisure Centre, Vista Road, Clacton on 17 November, 6pm to 7pm

• Columbine Centre, Bath House Meadow, Walton-on-the-Naze, on 26 November, 6pm to 7pm

• Mistley Parish Hall, Shrublands Road, Mistley, on 1 December, 6.15pm to 7.15pm

• Dovercourt Bay Lifestyles , Low Road, Dovercourt, on 4 December, 6pm to 7pm

• Brightlingsea Parish Hall, Victoria Place, Brightlingsea, on 7 December, 6pm to 7pm

Councillor Mick Barry, TDC Cabinet Member for Leisure and Public Realm, said: "These forums are a great opportunity for local clubs, organisations and community groups to meet and learn from each other, as well as finding out about grant funding for 2027.

“We will be highlighting how the grant funding of over £34,000 was allocated last year and showcasing examples of how this improved activity levels in many areas around our district.

“Whether you’re looking to invest in equipment, training or facilities, or create new opportunities to get involved in sport and recreation, we’d encourage you to come along, hear our funding plan and how we can support you.”

The Sports and Leisure Team will be sharing information on a range of potential funding streams, including Active Travel, Early Years, Children and Young People, and Club Development and Disability Activity grants.
