Tendring District Council (TDC) has brought festive cheer to Clacton town centre with the installation of a 25ft Christmas tree and sparkling seasonal lights.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of AA Turner Tankers and CSH Environmental, who together contributed £2,500, the tree now stands proudly in Clacton Town Square, forming the heart of the town’s Christmas celebrations.

The lights were officially switched on during Saturday’s festive event hosted by Clacton Arts Centre, marking the start of the holiday season.

The day featured entertainment, market stalls, and plenty of family fun, drawing crowds from across the district.

Bill Davidson, Chairman of TDC, expressed his gratitude to the sponsors for their continued support.

“We are incredibly thankful to AA Turner Tankers and CSH Environmental for their generous contribution,” he said.

“Their support helps us create a magical atmosphere in Clacton Town Square, bringing joy to residents and visitors alike throughout the festive period.”

The Christmas tree and lights will remain in place until early January.
