Businesses are being encouraged to sign up for free events taking place in the second week of Tendring4Growth Business Fortnight, as the district-wide programme of support continues.

The fortnight, led by Tendring District Council’s (TDC) economic development initiative Tendring4Growth, is now underway with workshops, advice sessions, networking opportunities and events taking place at venues across Tendring.

Councillor Ivan Henderson, TDC Cabinet Member for Economic Growth, Regeneration and Tourism, said the second week was another chance for businesses to make the most of the free support on offer.

“It has been good to see Business Fortnight get underway, with events bringing together businesses, entrepreneurs, jobseekers and partners from across the district,” he said.

“The second week keeps that momentum going, with useful sessions on funding, content creation and event planning, before we celebrate success at the Tendring4Growth Business Awards.

“I would encourage businesses to look through the programme, sign up for the sessions that are most relevant to them and take advantage of the free advice, contacts and inspiration available through Tendring4Growth and our partners.”

The opening week included sessions on procurement, start-up support, HR and management, employment and skills, the future of Clacton town centre, and a Young Entrepreneurs Market, with the second week now offering more chances for firms and future business owners to pick up practical advice and make useful contacts.

The second week begins on Monday 5 October with Colbea's Guide to Grants and Funding, offering businesses advice on the funding landscape and how to identify opportunities that could support their growth.

On Tuesday 6 October, Content Creation for Small Businesses will help local firms think about how they tell their story online, improve their social media content and make better use of simple tools to reach customers.

On Wednesday 7 October, The Event Blueprint - From idea to impact will guide people through the key steps involved in planning and delivering successful events, from shaping an idea and building partnerships to promotion, delivery and measuring impact.

The programme will then culminate on Thursday 8 October with the Tendring4Growth Business Awards at the Princes Theatre in Clacton, celebrating local businesses, entrepreneurs and organisations helping to support the district’s economy.
