Coach operators and group organisers heading to this summer’s Clacton Airshow are being urged to plan ahead, with dedicated drop-off and parking arrangements now in place for the popular seaside spectacular.

Staged by Tendring District Council (TDC), the 33rd Clacton Airshow returns on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 August, when thousands of visitors are expected to flock to the Essex Sunshine Coast for two days of thrilling flying displays and ground attractions.

To help coaches arrive and depart as smoothly as possible, a designated drop-off point will operate at Angle Field, with drivers asked to follow the signed route and traffic management in place on the day.

Coaches should use the postcode CO15 6PH for Angle Field and follow signs to the drop-off zone.

After dropping passengers at the designated location, all coaches should proceed to Clacton Leisure Centre, Vista Road, CO15 6DB, where dedicated coach parking will be available for the duration of the visit.

For coaches arriving to drop off passengers, please follow the approved route: continue straight ahead into Wash Lane, turn right onto Freeland Road, then right again onto Tower Road. From there, turn left onto Marine Parade and continue through the traffic lights onto Marine Parade East, following the road towards Angle Field, where the passenger drop-off point is located.

Those travelling to the event can also make use of the Park and Ride service from Clacton Shopping Village in Stephenson Road West, provided by KonectBuses. The official event car park at West Road run by Clacton-on-Sea Rotary Club, and additional rail services provided by Greater Anglia.

Visitors are encouraged to think about their journey in advance and allow extra time, particularly at busy periods, as road closures and temporary traffic measures will be in place around the seafront during the event.

Councillor Ivan Henderson, TDC’s Cabinet Member for Economic Growth, Regeneration and Tourism, said this year’s event is set to be one of the most memorable yet.

“Clacton Airshow is a jewel in the crown of the Essex Sunshine Coast – one of the biggest and most anticipated events in the East of England, drawing tens of thousands of visitors to our seafront each summer,” he said.

“We want everyone’s journey to be as easy and stress-free as possible, and these coach arrangements are designed to help groups arrive safely and conveniently while keeping the town moving during one of our busiest events of the year.

“Whether people are coming by coach, car, bus or train, planning ahead really does make a difference and helps everyone enjoy the day from the moment they arrive.

“With the Red Arrows returning and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight in the programme and plenty more to enjoy on the ground, Clacton Airshow 2026 is shaping up to be another unforgettable celebration on the Essex Sunshine Coast.”
