I have a payment arrangement direct with the Council

The rules surrounding payment arrangements under Liability Order are:

  • Any arrangement made must clear the debt within 6 months or a full budget sheet must be completed to support your offer
  • Arrangements cannot be made over the phone except in exceptional circumstances
  • Arrangements under Liability Order cannot be combined with a bill or a Liability Order under a different method of enforcement; they are a separate matter and must be treated as such
  • If you receive a Liability Order for another debt and you already have a payment arrangement in place then you can set up a combined arrangement
  • If you default on a combined arrangement then each Liability Order under that arrangement will be treated as a separate matter
  • Failure to keep to an arrangement without prior agreement from a Revenues Officer will result in further recovery action being taken without notice. This can be in the form of any of the following:
  • Attachment of Earnings
  • Deduction of Benefit
  • Enforcement Agent
  • Charging Order
  • Bankruptcy

Make a payment

I need to make adjustments to my current payment arrangement/have an enquiry about my current payment arrangement
