Recycling Boxes and Food Caddy Collection Points

Please Note: Due to supply chain problems, all collection points are temporarily out of stock of recycling containers. This page will be updated as soon as containers become available.

Collection Locations

Please note the only locations currently able to store a limited amount of recycling boxes for collection by residents are:

Alresford Parish Council - only available via telephone 01206 615117;

Brightlingsea Town Council, Victoria Place - Monday to Friday: 9am to 1pm

Town Hall, Station Road, Clacton - Monday to Friday: 10am – 2pm

All other locations will not be able to provide this service until further notice.  If you are unable to get to these locations then please use any suitable container for your recycling but please be sure to only put the correct recyclables in the container.  We will update this page when this service resumes.

Recycling Boxes and Food Caddy Collection Points

Want to start recycling or need additional recycling containers?  You can pick them up from one of our local collection points free of charge.  Please see the below list to find your nearest collection point and what stock is held there.

You can purchase a roll of 52 food caddy bags from your local library or Council office for only £1.50.

Gull proof bags are available for £10, the re-useable bag will protect your black sacks from being ripped open by birds and animals on collection day.

How to use the bags:

  • Place your household rubbish in black sacks as usual
  • Then place your tied black rubbish sacks into the reusable gull proof bag loose rubbish in the bag will not be collected
  • Place the reusable gull proof bag out for collection in the normal way by 7am on the day of collection
  • Please use only the Velcro flap to close your bag; do not tie your gull proof bag across the top as this may prevent the crew from emptying your bag
  • Ties are provided with the bag should you wish to secure the bag to your fence or gate post
  • The crew will empty the bag and leave the bag in place for you to collect and take in as soon as possible
  • The bag is for bagged household waste only
  • You can write your house number on the front of the bag for identification

We also sell rolls of black sacks for £2.34 per roll.
