The Brooklands Community Shop is currently run by the project manager Shelly Tidman.
With over 100 members signed up since November 2022 and 60-80 weekly visitors the Brooklands Community Shop is looking for friendly, interested volunteers who can help out in a number of areas, including:-
-Working the till, taking cash and card payments, and packing purchased items
-Unpacking and pricing deliveries to go out on the shelves
-Re-stocking the shelves, fridges and freezers during opening hours
-Ordering and collecting new stock
-Talking to local producers, as well as business to get their support
-Cleaning up and tidying
-Talking to customers about their experience
-Making teas and coffees for shoppers
This is a great opportunity to work with in a genuinely lovely community, to learn some new skills, build your confidence and meet new people.
Skills
- Experience of working with the public would be positive
- Able to drive would be a useful skill but not essential
- Happy to use a digital tablet
- Able to demonstrate good timekeeping
- Able to talk to people, be polite and positive
- Flexible enough to repond to changes in priority
