Do you have a background in law enforcement or the armed forces?   Although not essential for these roles, if you do, it could make you a great fit for our Planning Enforcement team.

Following a recent promotion, we are looking to grow and develop our team and are seeking mature, and confident people to join us.

We want to provide a first-class service to our customers and our ideal candidate will have great people skills and be proactive in problem solving.  

The work is varied and interesting and no two days are the same.  You may sometimes face challenging situations and so a mature and measured approach is essential to achieving a positive outcome for your cases.

Working under the Enforcement Team Leader, duties will include:

  • Investigating and resolving alleged breaches of planning control in an efficient and effective manner;
  • Undertaking site visits across the District;
  • Liaising with Councillors, colleagues and residents;
  • Monitoring development sites to ensure compliance with Planning conditions;
  • Developing good working relationships with developers and other service users.

You will be well-organised, methodical and have the ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and report writing skills and a strong commitment to customer care.  

Having the ability to negotiate and give clear messages under pressure along with possessing the tact and diplomacy to deal with a wide range of people and situations are key skills for this role.
