Dementia

Dementia is a common yet very complex condition, normally associated with memory loss. However symptoms can vary a great deal from person to person.

The term 'dementia' is used to describe the symptoms that occur when the brain is affected by specific diseases and conditions. Symptoms of dementia include loss of memory, confusion and problems with speech and understanding. According to the Alzheimer's Society, around 800,000 people in the UK have Dementia. This condition has caused major impacts on living independently and providing care.

Tendring Careline offers solutions to help, including the infra-red sensor, a device to monitor whether the user is moving about in their home.

Domestic Violence

Domestic Violence is a complex issue that affects families all over the world. People need support individually to meet their needs.

Domestic violence and abuse in all their forms can be about power and control. The abuser will try to control their partner or another family member using a number of methods:

  • violence
  • mind games
  • verbal abuse
  • financial control
  • forced marriage
  • sexual violence or manipulation

At Tendring Careline we work very closely with Essex Police who ask us to install our Careline Units and Pendants for people who suffer from domestic abuse and violence.

Independent Living

When living alone, home is where we are comfortable, it is where we are happy to be and are familiar with. However this feeling can easily turn to worry and distress if an emergency situation arises, especially if you are dealing with a health condition or disability.

Careline provides you with what you need to stay at home and live independently with peace of mind of safety and security.

The cost of paying for professional home carers can quickly build up. At Careline there are no hidden or extra costs and no lengthy long-term contracts.

When your Pendant is pressed or when a call has been raised from the Unit, it is received at Careline Control Centre in Clacton-on-Sea. One of our highly trained operators will answer your call, speak to you and assess your situation, then get the appropriate help. If you are unable to speak to our operators, they will have the information needed to know who is calling, key holders for the property, your medical information and next of kin contact details from our database. The operator will then get the appropriate help for you.

Vulnerable People

Vulnerable people are at greater risk of abuse. They could be unwell, unable to stand up for themselves, frail, suffer from a learning disability or mental illness.

A vulnerable person is someone who may be at risk because of mental, physical or learning disability, age or illness. Someone who cannot always take care of him or herself, or protect him or herself against harm or exploitation.

If you are or know someone who is vulnerable then please get in contact with us at Tendring Careline. Our products and services provide that extra help and independence needed to live safely and independently.
