The gardens at Weeley Crematorium and room of remembrance are open for people to visit memorials, please follow social distancing while doing so.
It is a requirement for those attending a service to wear a face covering. Anybody leading a funeral service or carrying out a reading during a funeral service does not need to wear a face covering. The officiant or reader can remove their face covering in order to take the service or carry out the reading so that the mourners can hear clearly, and those that rely on it can lip read. In such circumstances current methods of controlling the spread of the coronavirus will apply. Mourners do not need to wear a face covering if they have a legitimate reason not to. This includes a mourner who becomes distressed and needs to remove their face covering to wipe their eyes, nose or face.
We respectfully request that only very close/immediate family attend services at the crematorium. The maximum number of mourners permitted within the chapel is 20, we ask that a distance of 2m is maintained between groups not isolating together.
Weeley Crematorium is operated by Tendring District Council and is part of the Council's Operational Services Department.
