TOWIE’s Dan Osborne has put pen to paper and signed up for Beauty and the Beast this winter.

The 26-year-old, who is married to EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa, will be appearing on the stage at Clacton’s Princes Theatre, from December 9 to January 1, 2018.

Dan got his big breakthrough on ITV’s The Only Way is Essex back in 2013 having been a professional model before that.

Although TOWIE is what he is best known for he also took part in ITV’s diving competition show, Splash, which is presented by Olympic diver Tom Daley.

Dan said: “I am really looking forward to being in a pantomime in Essex over Christmas. It should be good fun and I know the Princes Theatre gets great audiences for its popular pantos.”

Dan will not be able to appear on December 22 when both performances will be covered by his understudy.

Beauty and the Beast is being put on by professional production company Polka Dot Pantomimes.

The company, which is based in Lincolnshire, also produced Sleeping Beauty at the Princes - which is run by Tendring District Council (TDC) - in 2016, Aladdin in 2015, Jack and the Beanstalk in 2014, Peter Pan in 2013, Cinderella in 2012 and Snow White in 2011.

Tanya Ferguson, TDC’s Cabinet Member for Tourism and Culture, said that working with Polka Dot Pantomimes the theatre seems to have come up with a winning formula.

“Audiences love it and we are pulling panto fans in from all over the District and packing out the theatre time and again,” she said.

“Dan will follow the likes of Steve Ritchie’s huge success last year and before that Scott Robinson, Jeff Brazier and Charlie Condou.

“We look forward to welcoming him to the Princes in December. I am certain he will be a hugely popular draw and ticket sales are already going very well.”

Audiences can once again look forward to dazzling costumes, fabulous scenery and some truly magical surprises and there will be a number of special school performances for the children.

There are excellent discounts for schools, family tickets and party bookings.

Tickets are already selling fast and can be booked by calling the Princes Theatre box office on 01255 686633 or by going online at
