Work is ongoing looking into potentially fully re-opening a swimming lane at a Tendring pool.
One lane has been removed from use during quieter periods at Tendring District Council-run Dovercourt Bay Lifestyles following a regular review of the pool’s normal operating procedures.
Mick Skeels, Tendring District Council (TDC) Cabinet Member for Leisure and Tourism, told tonight’s full council meeting that the partial closure was for a trial period.
“Although one lane is closed during quieter periods, the majority of the pool area is still available for use,” he said in response to a question.
“This partial closure is for a trial period, and the impact on our customers is being continually assessed.
“Officers are continuing to look at ways, some of them quite innovative, to potentially re-open the lane full-time as part of a review of the pool timetable.”
