Spiral staircase and glazed balcony can stay

Thursday, 11 January, 2018

The owners of a house in Clacton are to be able to keep a spiral staircase and glazed balcony which has already been built.

Tendring District Council (TDC) refused planning permission for the work last summer and the issue was taken to appeal.

Now Government Inspector Michael Boniface has found in favour of the scheme in Victoria Road for Stephen McNair-Wilson.

Mr Boniface decided that the new features would not cause any material harm to the living conditions of neighbours.

However, he did call for amendments to be made to an extended section of side window and the balcony.
