A revised scheme to provide seven flats in Alresford has been given the green light.
Tendring District Council (TDC) has approved a planning application for the site in Station Road.
It used to be a convenience store, bungalow and two flats but has now been mainly cleared for the new development.
The latest plans involve extensions and alterations to the two flats that remain with a number of changes to the original proposal.
TDC decided that the loss of the shop would not affect the vitality of the village centre and the design of the scheme is acceptable without causing significant harm to neighbouring amenities.
Alresford Parish Council did not comment on the plans and there were no letters of objection received.
