Residents are being challenged to identify Tendring locations – and raise cash to support local voluntary groups at the same time.
In the photo quiz, Tendring District Council (TDC) Chairman Dan Land has been photographed at more than 40 locations around the district and all you have to do is say where the image was taken.
The quiz costs £2 to enter, and all proceeds are going to Community Voluntary Services Tendring (CVST), an organisation supporting and co-ordinating charitable groups in the district.
Councillor Land said that by taking part in the quiz, you will be directly supporting an organisation that does so much to help people across Tendring.
“CVST is such a fantastic organisation, whose work underpins the efforts of so many groups and individuals in our community, which is why I have chosen them as my Chairman’s charity for this year,” Cllr Land said.
“This quiz is a fun way for people directly support CVST – some of the images are easy, others are meant to be a little more challenging to identify.
“And with the summer holidays upon us, why not go that extra mile – literally – by going out by foot or on your bike, explore our beautiful district and see if you can find all the locations yourself too. What better way to keep fit and active this summer?”
Sharon Alexander, Chief Officer at CVST, added: “CVST is extremely grateful for the support from the Chairman, Councillor Dan Land, and staff at Tendring District Council during these extremely difficult and challenging times.
“Not only will the funds raised from the quiz contribute to Covid-19 essential work, it will help cement the partnership between TDC, CVST and the wider sector which has worked well during the pandemic. This is all for the good of our local community.”
To enter the quiz, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call into the CVST offices in Rosemary Road, Clacton, pay your £2 and get an answer sheet.
The lucky winners will be drawn at random before 31 March 2021, close to the end of Cllr Land’s term of office. Prizes are a TDC beach hut voucher, Princes Theatre tickets, and afternoon tea for two guests with the Chairman in the Parlour at Clacton Town Hall.
