Nominations open for the Tendring Blue Ribbon Business Awards

Monday, 14 May, 2018

Nominations have opened today (Monday, May 14) for the Tendring Blue Ribbon Business Awards.

Organisers are keen for people to start putting names of individuals, teams and companies forward for the various categories for 2018.

All the information anyone needs, including a nomination form, can be found on the new-look website at

The awards were set up in 2016 to celebrate and reward excellence – highlighting the very best about businesses across the District

The awards are run by Jamesons Accountants, Barclays Bank and Tendring District Council (TDC).

After the closing date for entries on July 13 a panel of judges will work through the nominations to select the accolade winners, who will pick up their prizes at a glittering ceremony at Clacton’s Princes Theatre on October 4.

Christine Brown, from Jamesons, said she is hoping for another year of very high standard entries.

“We had more than 300 packed into the Princes Theatre last year and it really was an outstanding success all round,” she said.

“We know there is such a strength and breadth of business in Tendring, and I hope we can celebrate that once again with some top calibre winners.”

Sadie Moore, from Barclays, said the organisers are working hard to freshen things up and offer another top class evening in October.

“It is great to see firms getting on board this year and backing the event and we had sponsors lined-up very quickly which is always the sign of success,” she added.

“I believe companies are now well aware of the event and its standing and we hope that they will be getting their nominations in to give the judges another difficult time in choosing the winners.”

This year’s judging panel will once again be headed up by George Kieffer, Chairman of the Haven Gateway Partnership.

Zoe Fairley, TDC’s Cabinet Member for Investment and Growth, said the awards were important to celebrate business success.

“There are so many firms in Tendring which are all so important to the District, providing countless jobs for our residents. We will do all we can as a Council to help them prosper and will continue to work closely with them.”
