Tendring Blue Ribbon business awards has launched its revamped website ahead of nominations opening next month.
This year’s ceremony, on October 4, will be the third time the annual awards have been held in the district.
The new-look website – www.tendringblueribbon.org – has all the information people will need to get involved with the event.
Tendring Blue Ribbon was first held in 2016, set up by Jamesons Accountants, Barclays Bank and Tendring District Council to celebrate and reward excellence in the business community.
In all there are 15 categories, 14 of which firms can enter and the prestigious Judges’ Award. These range from Tradesperson of the Year and Start Up Business to Team of the Year.
Nominations will open on Monday, May 14, and companies have until mid-July to submit their entries ahead of judging over the summer.
St Helena Hospice has been chosen as Charity of the Year to benefit with the proceeds from the awards in 2018.
Christine Brown from Jamesons said this year’s event would continue to build on the success of the previous two years.
“Tendring Blue Ribbon has become an established part of the local business community calendar, but we are not planning to rest on our laurels,” she said.
“We will continue to grow and develop the awards, just as we know businesses in Tendring are continually innovating for the benefit of their customers.”
Sadie Moore from Barclays said the refreshed website was a fantastic platform from which to launch the awards.
“The new-look site is a handy one-stop-shop for everything about Tendring Blue Ribbon business awards and the fresh website reflects how we feel about this year’s awards – fresh and raring to go,” she said.
Zoe Fairley, Cabinet Member for Investment and Growth at Tendring District Council, said there were countless businesses thriving in the District, and it was right to celebrate their successes.
“Whether it’s a sole trader electrician to one of our largest employers in the District, from the care sector to tourism, businesses are the driving force behind Tendring,” she said.
“They provide vital services and jobs for local residents, and their ongoing success deserves to be recognised.
“Whoever the eventual Blue Ribbon winners are, we know that firms across Tendring are continuing to do great things.”
