Hundreds of people had a taster of Walton-on-the-Naze Lifestyles during an open day held on Saturday (8 June).
Visitors to the Tendring District Council-run leisure centre tried out aqua class family fun and a pool inflatable session, as well as enjoying other activities including face painting.
A highlight of the day was the Disney Inspired Swim Session, a new class which runs every Sunday from 9-9.45am as part of a Swim England initiative.
There was also a raffle, tombola and cake sale, with the centre raising £463 for the Essex Air Ambulance.
Alex Porter, TDC Cabinet Member for Leisure and Tourism, said open days like these and that recently held in Dovercourt and Harwich were a great way of finding out what is on your doorstep.
“Our leisure centres are a hive of activity, whether you’re looking for a serious spin class, a fun workout or to splash about in a pool,” Cllr Porter said.
“I’m glad that the Walton-on-the-Naze Lifestyles was so well-received – in particular the Disney swim sessions which are taking place across the district.
“Walton Lifestyles is a great facility which local residents can and should use – it is there for their benefit.”
