More businesses from Harwich than ever before have signed up for this year’s Tendring Jobs and Careers Fair.
The event which takes place on Tuesday 4 October from 10am to 4pm is preparing to welcome more than 55 stand holders and hopes to break last year’s record number of nearly 2,000 visitors.
Making their debut appearance and also sponsoring the event at Clacton’s Princes Theatre is Harwich Haven Authority.
“This is the first time we have exhibited at the Tendring Jobs and Careers Fair and we’re delighted to support such a great initiative,” said Neil Glendinning, Chief Executive at Harwich Haven Authority.
“We have been the proud guardian of the Haven Ports since 1863 and we’re always keen to recruit people living in the Tendring area.”
“Conservancy, pilotage and vessel traffic services are our core business, which are supported by engineers (both civil and marine), seamen, marine support teams as well as general business functions such as IT, HR, accounts and administration,” he said.
Zoe Fairley, Tendring District Council’s (TDC) Cabinet Member for Investment and Growth, said she was delighted with the large number of businesses supporting the event.
“I’m personally looking forward to meeting the businesses who have signed up for this year’s event and discussing their ideas to help future growth in Tendring,” she said.
Also exhibiting this year from Harwich are Surya Foods, Grange Fencing, Galloper Wind Farms and The Pier Hotel.
Stas Anastasiades, Operations Director of Milsom Hotels and Restaurants said: “We are delighted to be involved with the Tendring Jobs and Careers Fair.
“Our district hosts an impressive list of forward thinking and inspiring employers and to bring so many of them together in this way, as well as some fantastic national organisations has got to make this an event that every local job seeker and graduate should attend”.
“The Pier at Harwich has employed enthusiastic, ambitious and hardworking local people since the 70’s and it believes wholeheartedly in the area and looks forward to welcoming visitors to their stand on the day,” he added.
This year sponsorship has been secured from Affinity Water; Harwich Haven Authority; Galloper Wind Farms; Electric Centre, Clacton; Surya Foods and Hotels and Grange Fencing.
