Plans for 42 homes to be built on farmland in Dovercourt have been given the green light.
The development on Greenfield Farm, off Main Road, is part of a housing allocation area in the emerging Local Plan.
Tendring District Council’s (TDC) Planning Committee heard that though there had been objections with concerns raised about traffic through Main Road, the Highways Authority had no issue with the plans. The site had been used as a farm and farm shop so was used to heavy traffic levels.
It was confirmed that any further development around the site would have to be accessed from the A120 bypass.
The committee earlier this week (Tuesday, June 26) approved the application, subject to a legal agreement securing contributions from the developer towards education and health facilities and affordable homes.
Finer details of the scheme will be decided by TDC after a further planning application.
