A caravan park in St Osyth has been given the green light to expand.
Haven Leisure Limited applied for an extra nine bases for static caravans at Orchards Holiday Village in Colne Way, Point Clear Bay.
The proposal includes a new internal access road, pedestrian footpaths, landscaping, a boardwalk and bridge.
The caravans will be self-contained holiday units which cannot be used as residential accommodation.
Tendring District Council (TDC) decided that the scheme will enhance a neglected area of the site which takes up a central location in the park and will improve the visitor accommodation on offer.
The application was opposed by St Osyth Parish Council over fears that the development will overlook neighbouring properties and there was one other letter of objection.
