Candidates revealed for upcoming general election

The candidates standing in the Clacton constituency at the upcoming General Election have been confirmed.

Voters are heading to the polls in the constituency on 12 December.

Today the Statement of Persons Nominated has been published, revealing who will be contesting the vote.

People wishing to vote in the upcoming election and who are not already registered have until 26 November to do so.

Voters requiring a postal vote have until 5pm on 26 November to apply, while those looking for a proxy vote have until 5pm on 4 December to apply.

Acting Returning Officer Ian Davidson is urging voters to have their say on 12 December.

“Those who have a vote next month can use it to have their say on who will represent them in the House of Commons for the next term of office,” Mr Davidson said.

“If people want to make their views known and influence who is elected then that is the time to do it, and people should make sure they are registered to vote.”
