Permission has been given by Tendring District Council (TDC) to turn a former public toilet into a café/restaurant.
Stuart Hazell applied to TDC to convert the disused conveniences on Marine Parade, Dovercourt, and bring them back into use as a café – creating three full-time jobs.
Members of TDC’s Planning Committee ruled on the application last night as the land is owned by the Council.
Planning officers recommended the scheme was approved as it tied in with policies on economic regeneration and bringing redundant buildings back into use, and no objections were made to the application.
Opening times will be restricted from 7.30am until 8pm.
